Binary is a base-2 numerical system that only uses two characters: &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;0&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt; and &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;1&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Using binary in Scratch [[project]]s allows for very simple encoding and decoding of values. Because [[Cloud Data|cloud variables]] can only use numbers, converting strings into binary can allow for more advanced cloud storage.&lt;br /&gt;

==Converting Numbers to Binary==&lt;br /&gt;
This program requires one [[sprite]] and four [[variable]]s. The following variables are required:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* &amp;lt;sb&amp;gt;(binary)&amp;lt;/sb&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
* &amp;lt;sb&amp;gt;(bit)&amp;lt;/sb&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
* &amp;lt;sb&amp;gt;(i)&amp;lt;/sb&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
